If radio adds video to compete with TikTok then radio could also compete for TV ad dollars while offering something that TikTok, YouTube, Amazon, Apple, Facebook and every other digital network can't, namely audiovisual ads within branded, pre-screened, linear content distributed by government licensed content providers and measured using the same Nielsen ratings as TV.
Interesting theory Mike, especially when considering that people are favorable about the ads they see on TikTok (brand TikToks). DISQO published some interesting findings last year.
Don't think it becomes a thing. As you said, the intimacy and immediacy of having it on your phone is part of the intangible success of the platform.
To view on a TV, it is almost appointment like where I would have to make it a point to go into a room with the TV to watch something.

I think it was 3 or 4 years ago at CES that I saw manufactures with motorized wall mounts. You could press a button and your tv would rotate 90 degrees, from landscape to portrait. Haven't seen them in use anywhere since.

Video = TV today; Platforms don't matter just Audience does; Scale = Power; Engagement matters; Premium Content is in the eyes of the beholder.
