First of all, thank you for reading this newsletter at all, when you have so many choices. And a special thanks to anyone out there who has shared posts, recommended this newsletter, or commented on a particular story. It’s the audience - and the mini community we’re building - that makes this endeavor so rewarding.
I should have sent this note out a few weeks ago (which my wife reminded me yesterday), but I am moving Next in Marketing to a subscription model. There will be issues that are free to everybody, including posts that are centered around my podcast Next in Marketing (which I’m going to start publishing directly to Substack - stay tuned/streamed). But the main weekly Fridayish newsletter will be behind paywall. I didn’t mean to blindside anyone.
As you’ll see, this newsletter is going for $8 and $80 a year. I sincerely appreciate all that have subscribed so far. While I do sell ads for this newsletter and my podcast (reach out to mike@shieldsstrategic.com if interested), I think reader subscriptions will help bring this publication to a much higher level.
My plan is to keep trying to bring you all hopefully useful insight and analysis in an entertaining fashion -but with more and more in-depth reporting. I’m hoping this approach proves all the more valuable to you.
Or I’ll just type something into ChatGPT, send it out to you and try to get you to pay for it. We’ll see how it goes.
